KRU ANDRE MCINTYRE TAKES OVER KING GYM

Regrettably Head Teacher and founder Jeven Green will be moving to Thailand in November. At present the move is said to be permanent, However alot of effort and time has been spent on the establishment of King gym javonandandreand to date the gym has seen a number of fighters represent the gym competitively. These fighters and the gyms existence seemed uncertain to say the least.

After discussions with World Muaythai Champion Andre McIntyre who also runs the 3D muaythai school in Reading, It was agreed that he will take over as head teacher of king gym for a 3 month trial period. This will start as of October 1st 2007. During this period the gym will retain its name of KING GYM. If the partnership is successful King Gym Southampton will become 3D Muaythai school Southampton And thus all fighters will then bare 3D gym colours.

The transition of teachers was celebrated by a special WAI KRU ceremony (held on last official day of Kru Jeven Greens teaching period, Friday 28th September). The ceremony saw both Kru's enter the ring, show Wai, perform each gym's Ram Muay and the passing of the boxing gown, corner jackets and monkong. Kru Mcintyre accepted, then finished the event by blessing the gym.

Once settled in Thailand, Jeven plans to re-open King Gym with the help of Thai's in Bangkok. Students from both the original King gym and 3D muaythai school will then compliment there training with discounted training holidays to Thailand.

The gym wishes to thank Kru Jeven Green for all his time and efforts and wishes him all the very best in the future.
